Biography: Rudolf Marian Polt was born in Stryi in 1883. From 1895 to 1901, he studied at the 3rd Franz-Josef Gymnasium and later at the Higher Technical School in Lviv. From about 1911, he worked in the technical departments of the vicegerency and magistracy in Lviv. During the inter-war period, he had his own engineering office at 44 Kokhanovskoho Street (now 44 Levytskoho Street), was a government-authorised civil engineer, civil "geometer" (geodesist), and forensic building expert. His name has been listed in Lviv's "Christian" city directory since 1937. The fate of Rudolf Marian Polt during the Second World War is unknown.

Object description

An extract from the cadastral plan of Lviv at the scale of 1:1440 is shown. It was used to create site plans of the construction site at scales of 1:500 and 1:5000. The wooden chapel of St. Andrew and St. Volodymyr, which existed at the time, is marked, as well as the neighbouring private plots between Tserkovna (now Uliana Kravchenko), Bohdanivka (now part of Horodotska), and Ludowa (now Narodna) streets. The drawings were made in August 1935 by Rudolf Polt, a government-authorised civil engineer, civil "geometer" (geodesist), and forensic building expert.

Inscriptions

Between the schemes on the right of the sheet is a seal with the inscription: "Architectural Department of the Lviv City Council – Abteilung für Architektur Stadtverwaltung Lemberg" with the signature of Hauser.
