Object description
A static full-length sculptural image depicts a man in knightly armour who is placed on a low square stand. One can feel the author's desire for naturalistic human body modelling in a somewhat squat figure. The face of a middle-aged man is expressive and characterised by individual features. A soft oval of an elongated face, a massive chin with a dimple, a low forehead that turns into a straight nose, eloquent wide-open eyes framed with plump eyelid lines, and a large spreading moustache characterise the image of a knight. A man is dressed in a short tunic and knightly armour over it. On the head is a helmet decorated with a plume. A long cape is fluttering behind the shoulders of the knight; it is formed with shallow massive folds carved with vertical lines; their tops are rounded and ribbed. It breaks the humility and static of the image.
