Object description
A quatrefoil tsuba (mokko-gata) with a wedge-shaped hole (nakago-ana) in the centre and an oval hole (hitsu-ana) for kozuka to the left of it. The surface of the tsuba is covered on both sides with an embossed pattern depicting waves, between which a dragon with a pearl is piercing the metal. The applied edging of the central and side holes is made of yellow metal and contains a finely embossed pattern of convex cones arranged in rows (Nanaka). The dragon and the edges of the tsuba are gilded.
