Object description
A round-shaped tsuba (maru-gata) with a wedge-shaped hole (nakago-ana) in the centre and two holes alongside it (hitsu-ana) for kozuka and kogai. On the front and backside of the tsuba in the lower part, there is a relief image of sea waves with inlaid insets; on the upper part of the front side, there is a thin pattern with golden metal strokes that create the image of the sky and silhouettes of two birds.
