Object description
The portrait depicts a young woman in the background of the park. The work is painted following the French artistic tradition, as evidenced by a low-necked dress made of ornamented fabric and decorated with lace and a red ribbon in the middle, a string of pearls on her neck, and a high fashionable wig "fontange". The flowers skillfully painted at the bottom of the work add to decorativism of the work. The social status of the woman is shown by her theatrical pose, mannered gestures, jewelry, and expensive fabric of her clothing.
