Object description
Against a black background is a half-length portrait of a middle-aged man with sideburns, slightly turned to the right. The clothing and hairstyle of the portrayed man are characteristic of the early 19th century. The man wears a black frock coat, a white shirt with a high old-fashioned collar (known as "father-murderer"), and a white neck scarf. His chestnut hair is combed over his forehead. His eyes are black. The gaze is directed at the viewer.
