Object description
The sculptural representation of the Crucifixion has suffered significant damage, with the head, arms, and feet missing. The elongated stylised form anatomically resembles a human figure, with the torso, arms, and legs roughly outlined. The proportions are simplified, and the work is executed without a detailed rendering of the image. The visual simplicity makes the work similar to archaic works of art, where function was more important than aesthetics.
