Object description
Zieleniewski (?–1751) was a chaplain of Waclaw Rzewuski. In the inventory records of the Pidhirtsi Castle (dated 1812), the portrait was mentioned as an image of Stanislaw Kanarski (1700–1773). In the painting, there is a bust-length image of an older man. The intimate image on a neutral background depicts the chaplain without giving an accent to his social status. In the portrait, more attention is paid to the psychological traits of the person portrayed. Zieleniewski is represented in elderly age. He is dressed in the dark clothes of a clergyman. The artist mainly focused on the chaplain's round face with clearly visible ruddy cheeks, small eyes with a thoughtful look, and a faint smile on his lips. The author skilfully conveyed the emotional state of the person portrayed.
